Request Foods® began as the prepared entrees division of Bil Mar Foods, one the nation’s largest turkey processors.When Bil Mar was bought by Sara Lee in 1988, a group of investors, led by Jack DeWitt, purchased the division and launched Request Foods® in a new 100,000 sq. ft., production facility in Holland, Michigan.

In 2001, the company added 100,000 sq ft. as the company began to focus more on copacking frozen entrees for consumer product companies and major food service organizations.

In 2003, the company expanded even more, increasing its size to 350,000 square feet, to what is now one of the largest frozen food production companies in the United States.
