Immediate Openings

Customer Service Representative

The selected candidate will be responsible for working directly with several of our major customers in meeting their specific needs. Patience and tact are necessary qualities in what can be a high-pressure environment. The selected candidate will need good time management skills as well as problem solving abilities.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Customer communication

Required Qualifications:

Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Buyer

The MRO Buyer is responsible for the procurement, inventory control, and distribution of all parts and supplies related to equipment maintenance and repair.  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, principal activities for the MRO Buyer role include strategic supplier research, sourcing, requests for proposals, and cost negotiations. The MRO Buyer is accountable for building successful vendor relationships, conducting analysis on material usage, and working closely with the Maintenance and Production Teams to deliver optimum results in both cost of goods and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Working with information from Maintenance, Engineering, and Production, identify and establish appropriate parts inventory levels. Enter parts and supply inventory requirements, purchases, and usage into established record keeping tools; conduct periodic reviews of inventory levels to ensure recordkeeping accuracy and sufficient supply levels as required.
  • Proven ability to creatively and ethically negotiate with suppliers to obtain the optimum value.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the maintenance of the supplies purchasing and inventory system. Provide assistance with parts and supplies specifying and purchasing.
  • Maintain computerized Purchasing/Receiving system for MRO and Engineering plant items and oversee daily operations of the purchase order.
  • Perform recommended reorder daily and review confirmations.
  • Outline key performance measures and monitor periodic spending and performance against measures.
  • Responsible for finding and achieving cost savings through sourcing of new suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Ensure purchase order information is accurate and updates are made as necessary.
  • Identify and assist with resolving issues that delay material deliveries.

Required Qualifications/Education/Skill

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is a plus.
  • 2+ years of MRO buying experience is preferred.
  • Background in materials management, inventory control, and purchasing is preferred.
  • Previous experience with computerized inventory systems and purchasing is preferred.
  • Previous negotiating experience and excellent negotiation skills are preferred.
  • Experience in plant maintenance in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of basic electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication is a plus.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Proven ability to manage workflow with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Recruitment Specialist

A key member of Request Foods’ People Services Department, the Recruiting Specialist will work closely with departmental managers and supervisors to develop and execute a recruiting strategy to identify talent from both internal and external pools. This entry level position is ideal for the recent college graduate who wants to begin his/her career in Human Resources. The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for filling hourly manufacturing positions fostering the process from candidate identification and assessment, through job offer, acceptance and onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the full life cycle recruiting process including utilizing proactive recruiting techniques to source external candidates using Indeed, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as other social media, advertising media, job fairs, referrals, and temporary employment agencies.
  • Partner with department managers to understand current and anticipated hiring needs in each functional area.
  • Receive personnel requisitions from department managers and coordinate the internal job posting process ensuring current team members are given opportunities to apply.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors to ensure achievement of hiring goals.
  • Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions, extend job offers, coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug screens, and complete background/reference checks.
  • Assist with the applicant flow and hiring process including the processing, updating and management of the applicant tracking system and new hire documents.
  • Perform orientation for new members and prepare them to confidently start their new position with Request Foods.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related field is required.
  • Previous internship in a related field is strongly preferred, or 1 year of experience in full cycle recruitment.
  • Strong team member focus along with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick changing environment.

Forklift/Hilo Operator – 2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00pm – shift end (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Forklift/Hilo Operator, you will be responsible for operating a stand-up forklift to properly stage frozen ingredients for the Kitchen and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stage frozen ingredients for the Kitchen and Production teams from requisitions.
  • Operate a stand up reach truck in a safe and timely manner to assure proper unloading and storage of received materials and finished products.
  • Responsible for the accurate picking and recording of customer orders.
  • Perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Loading and moving frozen ingredients from the receiving dock into appropriate freezer locations.
  • Using computer terminal to look up and locate inventory information.
  • Select orders according to proper product code numbers and quantities.
  • Select product from proper location to assure proper product rotation.
  • Complete paperwork accurately, neatly and in a timely fashion.
  • Perform lifting following approved methods to avoid injury.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed for forklift operations and other work practices to avoid and eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Follow all GMP and Product Safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and fork lift driving experience.
  • Forklift certified or ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Stand-up forklift experience required.
  • Must have proficient math skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Job Overview : As an Industrial Cook, you will be responsible for preparing large scale batches of vegetables or sauces safely and efficiently. This job requires attention to detail and includes physical activities such as heavy lifting and shoveling of ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix, cook, and process various raw materials consistent with daily production needs.
  • Weigh all raw goods to specifications.
  • Keep prep cooler and other work areas clean and organized.
  • Monitor and maintains proper rotation of raw goods.
  • Handle and stores leftover raw goods according to procedures.

  • Responsible for setting up and tearing down the production line equipment.
  • Operate machines, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, basic quality control, and waste control.
  • Responsible for keeping the production line supplied with raw materials at all times.
  • Responsible for the operation of a manual and/or power hand jack.
  • Able to complete production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist packing department by stacking cases of finished product onto pallets as they come off the packaging line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.

Assembler/Packer

Job Overview: As an Assembler/Packer, you will be responsible for assembling and packing frozen food entrees on various production lines safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembling food entrees various production lines.
  • Packing finished product.
  • Handle food ingredients per approved GMP and Quality standards.
  • Ensure quality workmanship of product.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and good housekeeping procedures.

  • Extensive standing, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to keep pace with speed of the line.

Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Hours: 2:30pm – shift end (hours may vary)

Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00pm – 1:00am (hours may vary)

Job Overview: Diagnose and repair various types of industrial equipment (including gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, etc.) The successful candidate will have the ability to safely troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic machine systems, preferably with food manufacturing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure on time start-up of assigned lines
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance of all assigned plant equipment, including service, repair or replacement of gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, etc.
  • Ensure the mechanical and physical integrity of the production equipment.
  • Reduce the production down time as a result of mechanical failure.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance measures are completed on a timely basis.
  • Assist Mechanics as needed to complete machine repair and/or equipment troubleshooting
  • Properly and safely use maintenance shop equipment (drill press, lathe, pneumatic tools, etc.) to complete projects.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair: Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic

Sales Representative

Sales Representative

This entry level food service sales position will be responsible for working directly with a major customer to increase sales of private label products. The selected candidate will travel throughout a several state territory working with other sales representatives and brokers providing support and specialist knowledge.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with sales representatives employed by our customer as well as the brokerage network used for this customer by providing product specialist knowledge and support.
  • Work to increase sales for our customer’s products within a several state territory through daily sales calls and visits to various accounts.
  • Extensive travel in a market area consisting of multiple states often requiring 3 – 5 days out of town each week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sales or related degree.
  • Sales internship or related experience preferred.
  • Food service sales experience would be a plus.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Outstanding people skills and excellent communication skills are essential.
