Director of Finance

Position Summary

Request Foods’ Director of Finance provides financial leadership ensuring financial reporting, accounting systems, processes and controls are compliant with all technical and regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the CFO and leads a team of 6 individuals. We will look for the Director of Finance to take an active role in enhancing reporting, strategic planning and analysis needed to reach the next level of Company growth and success.

The Director of Finance oversees the development and deployment of all finance policies, procedures, and practices to ensure accuracy in the finance and accounting systems while protecting confidentiality of sensitive financial and business information. Responsibilities also include: monthly and year end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, monthly financial statement reporting and analysis, internal controls, treasury operations, banking relations, tax, audit, risk management, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, fixed asset record keeping, administering certain employee benefits, tax incentives, timely reporting of financial information in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and various analysis and business case preparation.

The Director of Finance is a self-motivated, results oriented individual who possesses strong analytical skills and strives for continuous improvement. He/she must display the personal characteristics of honesty, hard work, initiative, collaboration, attention to detail and timeliness. This individual will have proven servant leadership characteristics and people skills in developing, coaching and leading teams to reach its highest potential. He/she adheres to the Company’s culture and mission statement by example and maintains good collaborative working relationships with everyone at all levels of management, shareholders, and outside advisors and stakeholders.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required, emphasis in Finance and/or Accounting preferred. CPA or MBA required.
  • 15 plus years of progressive financial management with responsibility in a similar role of controllership and financial planning and analysis, in a manufacturing environment for a company with annual revenues of several hundred million dollars.
  • A growth mindset that pursues continuous improvement, innovation with strong analytical skills and superior technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficiency in reporting, analysis, cash management, budgeting and projections.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven record of leading, mentoring, motivating, coaching and developing strong teams.
  • Experience with product pricing and the application of standard costing principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of improving processes, controls, efficiency and profitability.
  • Executional excellence. Ability to deliver results – tactically and strategically, while prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and communication skills; good listening skills.
  • Strong initiative and accountability skills accompanied by a strong work ethic.

Sanitation Worker – 3rd Shift

Hours: 10:00pm – shift end (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Sanitation Worker at Request Foods, you will be responsible for cleaning production equipment and adjacent areas following approved sanitary methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods.
  • Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment.
  • Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities.
  • Responsible for following through on projects assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to understand the operation of various pieces of production equipment mechanically and regarding the power source.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cold environment (Cooler, Freezer)
  • Ability to be flexible with the variety of work responsibilities available.

Industrial Cook – 2nd Shift

Hours: 12:30pm – 10:30pm (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As an Industrial Cook at Request Foods, you will be responsible for preparing large scale batches of vegetables or sauces safely and efficiently. This job requires attention to detail and includes physical activities such as heavy lifting and shoveling of ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix, cook, and process various raw materials consistent with daily production needs.
  • Weigh all raw goods to specifications.
  • Keep prep cooler and other work areas clean and organized.
  • Monitor and maintains proper rotation of raw goods.
  • Handle and stores leftover raw goods according to procedures.
  • Document work accomplished and hazard analysis critical control point requirements according to procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Strong communication skills; Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in cold environment (Cooler, Freezer)
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s

Machine Operator/Loader – 1st Shift

Hours: 5:30am – shift end (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Machine Operator at Request Foods, you will be responsible for setting up and operating food processing machinery to safely and efficiently produce frozen food entrees. You will also be responsible for supplying the production line with raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting up and tearing down the production line equipment.
  • Operate machines, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, basic quality control, and waste control.
  • Responsible for keeping the production line supplied with raw materials at all times.
  • Responsible for the operation of a manual and/or power hand jack.
  • Able to complete production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist packing department by stacking cases of finished product onto pallets as they come off the packaging line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Quality Control Technician – 2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00pm – Shift End (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Quality Control Tech at Request Foods you will be responsible for monitoring and documenting per standardized procedures to safely and efficiently produce frozen food entrees. The ideal candidate for this position would be detail oriented and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Including, but not limited to:
  • Hourly line audits
  • Monitor and verify correct packaging area parameters are met (i.e. code dates, packaging, labels, etc.)
  • All duties include detailed and accurate information tracking and documentation per standardized procedures
  • Net weight monitoring
  • Monitoring kitchen activities
  • Operational sanitation audits
  • Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) monitoring in areas of responsibility
  • Sample collection as appropriate
  • Communication of issues from shift to shift, department to department
  • Equipment calibration/verification

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Quality Control / Assurance experience preferred.

Refrigeration Technician / Boiler Mechanic – 3rd Shift

Hours: 11:00pm – 7:30am (Hours will vary)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing hands–on refrigeration technician duties to maintain the RQH/GSP ammonia refrigeration process equipment in addition to maintenance on various facility systems.
  • With assistance from Process Safety Management Coordinator, will ensure Request Foods compliance with all PSM elements per governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for performing hands-on mechanical duties to maintain the facility boiler equipment and associated systems.
  • Will function as an active member on the Request Foods HAZMAT Technician team.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • 3 – 5 years of Industrial ammonia refrigeration and maintenance experience required
  • Ongoing ammonia refrigeration education is required, including HAZMAT response training
  • Technical knowledge of, and ability to troubleshoot and repair Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
  • Boiler Operator certification is preferred. Must be able to obtain Operator certification within 3 months
