Regional Sales Representative
(Cincinnati, OH)

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Representative based in Cincinnati Ohio will be responsible for working directly with a major customer to increase sales of private label products that we make for this customer. The selected candidate will travel throughout a several state territory working other sales representatives and brokers providing support and specialist knowledge.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Increase sales for our customer’s products within a several state territory through daily sales calls and visits to various accounts.
  • Develop strong relationships with sales representatives employed by our customer and assist them in the promotion of frozen food entrees.
  • Manage and develop relationships with the brokerage network through providing support and specialist knowledge.
  • Build relationships with our customer’s service store managers and sales representatives.
  • Extensive travel in a market area consisting of multiple states often requiring 3-5 days out of town each week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sales or related degree.
  • Sales internship or related experience preferred.
  • Food service sales experience would be a plus.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Outstanding people skills and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Willingness to relocate/reside in the greater Cincinnati, OH/ Lexington, KY area.

Quality Ingredient Specialist

Position Summary:
The Quality Ingredient Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of procured ingredients through supplier approval, monitoring, and on-site auditing. Additional responsibilities include understanding supply chain risks associated with individual ingredients and routinely performing risk assessments, as well as developing and applying solutions to mitigate risks. The primary objective is to drive constant improvement throughout the supply chain.

Specific responsibilities:
Supplier/Ingredient Monitoring

  • Conduct on-site auditing of suppliers and follow up until satisfactory conditions are met.
  • Identify risk-based activities to verify that foreign suppliers are meeting applicable US food safety standards.
  • Monitor and approve documentation in TraceGains.
  • Lead corrective action/preventive action team (CAPA)
  • Coordinate certificate management, such as monitoring kosher certificates, non-GMO project verified certificates and gluten free certificates.
  • Review ingredient usage in finished goods to determine suitability per Request Foods and customer specifications

Supplier/Ingredient Onboarding

  • Perform ingredient risk assessments for new and high risk suppliers/ingredients and provide feedback to management on supplier suitability.
  • Review ingredient specifications prior to committing to purchase such as physical, chemical, and biological limits to be assessed.
  • Obtain documentation from suppliers to meet our customer’s requirements.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology or Biology is required
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certification strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years auditing experience and/or auditing certification preferred

Sanitation Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing the Sanitation team to ensure the sanitary and timely startup of the manufacturing facilities. Additional responsibilities of the Sanitation Supervisor include the handling all personnel related tasks supporting the Sanitation team as well as being accountable to establishing and monitoring the appropriate costs for the department including labor, materials, and efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a college degree along with strong leadership experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Sanitation Crew Leaders and the accompanying Sanitation Crew Members on 3rd shift.
  • Responsible for the safety of all Request Foods Team Members.
  • Ensure the highest level of cleanliness of manufacturing areas are consistently delivered to the production team in a timely manner on a daily basis.
  • Maintain necessary departmental staffing, training and skills to support sanitation department operations.
  • Maintain acceptable costs within the Sanitation department (ie., chemical costs, labor/OT, etc.)

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience as a Supervisor, Crew Leader or comparable supervisory position, preferably with Sanitation/Cleaning environment experience in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge, experience, and background in food manufacturing and/or sanitation.
  • Excellent people skills with outstanding communication skills.
  • Developed problem solving capabilities along with excellent prioritization and organization skills.

Machine Operator/Loader – 2nd Shift

Hours: 2:30pm – shift end (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Machine Operator at Request Foods, you will be responsible for setting up and operating food processing machinery to safely and efficiently produce frozen food entrees. You will also be responsible for supplying the production line with raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting up and tearing down the production line equipment.
  • Operate machines, including troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, basic quality control, and waste control.
  • Responsible for keeping the production line supplied with raw materials at all times.
  • Responsible for the operation of a manual and/or power hand jack.
  • Able to complete production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist packing department by stacking cases of finished product onto pallets as they come off the packaging line.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.

Quality Control Technician – 2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00 – Shift End (hours may vary)

Job Overview: As a Quality Control Tech at Request Foods you will be responsible for monitoring and documenting per standardized procedures to safely and efficiently produce frozen food entrees. The ideal candidate for this position would be detail oriented and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Including, but not limited to:
  • Hourly line audits
  • Monitor and verify correct packaging area parameters are met (i.e. code dates, packaging, labels, etc.)
  • All duties include detailed and accurate information tracking and documentation per standardized procedures
  • Net weight monitoring
  • Monitoring kitchen activities
  • Operational sanitation audits
  • Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) monitoring in areas of responsibility
  • Sample collection as appropriate
  • Communication of issues from shift to shift, department to department
  • Equipment calibration/verification

Required Qualifications/ Education/ Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Quality Control / Assurance experience preferred.

Purchasing Clerk

Position Summary:
This entry level, clerical position in the Purchasing Department will be responsible for maintaining office supplies inventory, and providing documentation of company purchases.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Completion of the Rescheduled Buy and Open Order Reports.
  • Maintaining inventory and purchase schedule for office supplies.
  • Entering all miscellaneous non-stock orders and related issues.
  • Making all company credit card purchases, reviewing and providing documentation as required.

Required qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Previous clerical experience would be helpful.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).

Industrial Cook – 2nd Shift

Hours: 12:30pm – 10:30pm (hours may vary)

Job Overview : As an Industrial Cook at Request Foods, you will be responsible for preparing large scale batches of vegetables or sauces safely and efficiently. This job requires attention to detail and includes physical activities such as heavy lifting and shoveling of ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mix, cook, and process various raw materials consistent with daily production needs.
  • Weigh all raw goods to specifications.
  • Keep prep cooler and other work areas clean and organized.
  • Monitor and maintains proper rotation of raw goods.
  • Handle and stores leftover raw goods according to procedures.
  • Document work accomplished and hazard analysis critical control point requirements according to procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Strong communication skills; Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in cold environment (Cooler, Freezer)

Sanitation Worker – 3rd Shift

Job Overview: As a Sanitation Worker at Request Foods, you will be responsible for cleaning production equipment and adjacent areas following approved sanitary methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods.
  • Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment.
  • Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities.
  • Responsible for following through on projects assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to understand the operation of various pieces of production equipment mechanically and regarding the power source.
